Magnetovolt Sideways...
The Magnetovolt "Sideways..." is the Swiss army knife of a mastering chain. It is a fully analog M/S encoder and decoder, with several other functions to enable parallel processing, multiple outputs and impedance matching in different parts of the signal chain.
This can essentially turn any stereophonic signal processor in the chain into an advanced mid/side processor, thereby turning a stereophonic equaliser into an elliptical equaliser or a stereophonic compressor into a vertical or lateral compressor for disk cutting, enabling a stereophonic compressor to be used for parallel compression, a stereophonic equaliser to be used for parallel equalisation, as well as endless combinations of these functions. Along with the Magnetovolt Monco (Monitor Controller), they make up the heart of the Magnetovolt modular mastering console.
